This year swim season is all about how well you rock your swimsuit. So, we’ve compiled a list of the hottest celebrity swimwear trends that are rocking the beach this season.
Nautical and Retro Inspired Swimwear
Stripes, anchors, and navy blues all help pull off a preppy nautical look that says you’re fun, flirtatious, and stylish. Taylor Swift was spotted recently looking fabulous wearing a retro and thickly striped suit on a beach in Australia. Kate Hudson was seen wearing a cute striped two piece in Mexico and Misha Barton stole the show while wearing navy, high-waisted shorts and a cute top in Miami. All three had very different swimwear but still managed to pull off a preppy nautical (almost retro) look.
Graphic Print Inspired Swimwear
Nothing says ferocious like a well printed swimsuit. If you want to make a fashion statement on the beach, graphic inspired swimsuits are the way to go. We’re seeing trends of jagged, graffiti styled lines and animal print swimsuits. Take a page out of Kim Kardashian and Ashley Trisdale’sstyle book with bright colors and bold designs, and you’ll be the center of attention while sunbathing.
Thread Inspired Swimwear
Ruffles and knit thread inspired swimwear is another hot look this season. We’re seeing stars like Lea Michelle, LeAnn Rimes and Melissa Gorga sporting frilly or cool, threaded swim wear. Thread inspired suits are for the bohemian beach goddess, and we are seeing fringed, beaded and knitted styles. Ruffled suits are for the stylishly feminine, and we see a lot of pink, white and other pale colors in these suits.
Architectural Cut-Out Inspired Swimwear
If graphic prints were the ferocious style this year, cut out suits and one shoulder designs steal the show. We’ve spotted trend setters like Rihanna wearing a cut out suit, showing off her slender hips and luxurious style. For a more toned down look that still has an impact, try a one shoulder suit like Jennifer Lopez sported when she spent a day at the beach in Brazil. Either way, when wearing these, life at the beach was “cut out” for you.
Classic Black and White
Nothing is as slimming as black or as sophisticated as white. This year we are seeing trends with celebrities wearing suits of white tops and black bottoms or mixed suits. We’ve seen stars like Megan Fox, Whitney Port and Kristen Callivari showing off in these understated colors and no matter how you style it (the combination of all white, all back or a mash up of the two,) these colors exude a classy, sexy confidence.
